Paramecium caudatum

This video shows a number of paramecium feeding on some algae.  Paramecium are single celled organisms called protozoans which are common in pond water.

Paramecium use tiny hair-like structures called cilia in order to move.  Imagine a tiny boat with many oars moving in unison.

Several other species of protists can be seen in this video. The video was shot with a hand-held HD camera using a cell phone mount created using a 3D printer with plans from Thingiverse.
